Description
1911 Hose Cart. Cart 1 of near twin carts from Bountiful City Fire Department. The use of the hose cart was necessary to transport the fire hose to the scene of the fire. In the early days of the fire department, the hose was attached directly to the fire hydrant and then used from the hydrant to extinguish the fire. The volunteer firefighters would push this cart along the streets to the fires location. It was not until the mid 1920's that Bountiful started to use motorized fire equipment.
On display at the Utah Museum of Fire Service History and Firegihter Memorial in Salt Lake City, Utah.
